Hi Blueblades,
Great questions and comments! Thank you. They help spark some longed-for inspiration of thought since death as a JW. In reply to the order you asked or commented:
1) The key word is 'human'. God is not human, and if his son was the first creation, heavenly, as we are told thru the 'book', how could we know 'all' about the relationship between them that led to human sacrifice for mankind?
2) The key words are 'image and likeness'. The scriptures do not describe Jesus as the 'image and likeness' of God. How can we compare 'sacrifice' from our human 'image and likeness' vantage point.
3) Your belief in any book 'quoted' or 'misquoted' are yours as you see it.
4) God did not torture his child. Jesus' human peers conducted the torture. That is why we needed a ransom for our own sickness. God is not a parent in the 'image and likeness' of mankind. Just the opposite.
5) 'Basic knowledge' meaning mankind has gone so far!! What we have accomplished is astounding. Ongoing research can take us beyond our wildest thoughts and dreams. We still cannot explain beyond 'basic knowledge' of math and science why our brain, heart and body reproduces cells.
6) Put the book aside, billions of people live and die. You explain it! You will have to write a book.
Thank you,
Torn ACS
